Standards in Psychosomatic and Holistic Medicine

The inclusion of psychosomatic medicine and holistic therapy approaches into the rehabilitation scenario challenges interdisciplinary teams. AIRS wants to facilitate this inclusion and help to advance standards in this direction.

The idea of combining TCM, alternative medicine and psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is not new, but past attempts at merging these treatment concepts have failed due to USP protection, conflicting commercial interests and other factors.

AIRS intends to launch research projects on best practices for combining elements of various providers of alternative and Eastern treatment systems and identifying the benefits they offer when combined with Western treatment scenarios and standards.

This is an open field where various groups have already prepared the ground. AIRS is connecting researchers and organizing working groups and user communities that take an interdisciplinary medical approach to the topic that is based on evidence, science and research.
